Trek remastered their Powerfly eMTB lineup, refreshing models from aluminum hardtail frames up to carbon fiber full suspension bikes. Updates across the group include 500Wh Bosch PowerTube batteries that fill in the downtube with tool-free installation and removal. Each also gets a 250W Bosch Performance CX motor that can push up to 20mph. Bikes have a range from 60km in Turbo up to 170km in Eco mode. Models include the Powerfly LT 9.7, LT 7, FS 8, FS 5, 5, and 5 Women’s.
Full Suspension Tech
The full suspension bikes have Trek’s Straight Shot downtube, using the Knock Block frame protection to keep the fork’s crown from swinging into the it and damaging either frame or fork. The rear end uses their Active Braking Pivot, which puts the rear pivot concentric with the rear axle, a design that reduces or eliminates braking forces from affecting suspension movement. Look for 4-piston hydraulic disc brakes, plus-sized tires, and tough components. Most models will fit 27.5 x 2.8 tires.
The Long-Travel LT 9.7
The all-new Powerfly LT 9.7 is the first long-travel e-bike Trek has produced for the Powerfly lineup. It features a carbon frame, a 160mm RockShox Yari fork and 150mm travel out of a Rockshox Deluxe RT3 shock, and SRAM NX Eagle drivetrain. The top end of the Powerfly group – the LT 9.7 – is priced at $6,000. Oh, and we also see an accessory mount under the top tube. Specs include:

Getting Started
Trek’s entry-level Powerfly 5 comes in men’s and women’s options, both getting Boost 148 spacing, a Removable Integrated Battery (RIB), tapered 1.125 – 1.5″ headset, and Bosch electronics. The Powerfly 5 is priced at $4,000 and is only available in a hardtail option.
