Swiss manufacturer Stromer has been holding out on us! They’ve announced the ST5 e-bike. It’s a flat bar city bike with a range that will stand out for those in suburbia. Further, the ST5 has some key features you won’t find in any other e-bike.
Stromer’s ST5 gets an integrated touchscreen display in the top tube, hard-wired headlight in the frame and bar, a mobile app that controls nearly all aspects of the bike, and a near cable-free design with most cables being tucked away inside the frame. We see a glimpse of these key features in the above video. The downtube computer provides riding metrics, security, and battery status. Also, the Stromer OMNI smartphone app offers similar data when away from the bike in addition to GPS location and electronic locking capabilities.
Spec breakdown
The ST5 reaches speeds up to 28mph thanks to its 850W bushless SYNO Sport motor and 983Wh Li-ion battery. Notably, the battery is one of the largest on the market for e-bikes, and offers a range up to 110miles with a minimum 40miles while in sport mode. Another stand out feature is the custom-made Pirelli Cycl-e tires. There are very little details about the tires, but they appear wide with sidewall markings recommending as little as 27psi. The $10,000 ride is built with Shimano’s Alfine XTR Di2 drivetrain system, complete with an 11 speed 11-42T cassette. The ST5 comes with aluminum fenders along with front and rear lights.
