What has fat 27.5″ tires, fenders, a belt drive, and the latest Bosch e-bike drivetrain? That would be the new HNF Nicolai XD2 Urban e-bike. After their recent merger, HNF Heisenberg and Nicolai have released the first bike from HNF Nicolai – the XD2 Urban. Taking the place of the previous XD1, the new bike is quite similar but it integrates the latest e-bike tech from Bosch.

Fans of the original will recognize the XD Urban silhouette with aggressive styling, room for 27.5 x 2.4″ tires, full fenders, and mountain bike suspension. Built to tackle the roughest streets, the XD2 continues the line with the addition of the Bosch Power Tube internal battery.

Instead of the bulky downtube mounted battery, with the Power Tube, the battery is the downtube. Combined with a Bosch Performance Line CX motor, Purion computer, Gates Belt Drive, and NuVinci N380SE hub with C3 shifter (C8 is optional), the XD2 Urban should make for a fun, efficient, and lower maintenance commuter.
